About

This small hack integrates the Facebook "Like" plugin into your posts automatically, it has all the settings you would have if you were to configure it yourself, and what facebook asks on its developers page, so it is a fully scalable, fully customisable 'like' plugin for vBulletin 3.8 (and earlier (untested)) versions.

Allowed Distribution only at these sites; vbfans.com adminextra.com vbulletinsetup.com - if you see this plugin being distributed on other sites without my explicit permission, please PM me - I realise there are probably products which already do this but I didnt find anything which suited my needs when I looked.

Hi Mikey,

This is a great Mod that does exactly what I was looking for but I do have a few small problems.

1. See the attached image. When viewed in IE8 the mod shows up as a white box instead of transparent. It looks fine in Firefox and Chrome but not IE8.

2. When the Like button is clicked in an Announcement it does not work properly. On my board it gives a Like to a 6 year old thread and shows it on my FB profile.

Do you have any suggestions how I can fix these problems? I'll happily make a donation if I can get the mod working properly.

Thanks,

Don

Sorry for the delay in the reply Laker, I didn't see your reply, my bad.

Okay, in the vBulletin Options, you can reduce the height and width of the area where the like box appears, that will reduce some of the whiteness and also it'll reduce the height of your postbit too, looks like it's currently being vertically stretched by the mod.

Facebook only provides two options; colorscheme=dark and colorscheme=light - so I have to add a colour option to the mod in the vBulletin Options where you can set a background colour. I'll do this and add it as an attachment to this post as soon as I can.

Also, I would start advising your members to stop using IE, it's very behind on web standards and such, not everything works correctly in that browser.
